On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at noon, tens of thousands of people gathered in New York City for a massive mobilization to protest the ongoing crimes committed by Israel in Gaza and across Palestine. The demonstration, organized under the rallying cry “Stop Starving Gaza,” drew an enormous crowd to Bryant Park, where participants gathered to hear speeches and firsthand testimonies from those directly affected by the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The protest came in response to the escalating atrocities, particularly the deliberate use of starvation as a weapon of war. In the week leading up to the march, children in Gaza were tragically killed as a direct result of Israel’s blockade and denial of food, water, and medical supplies. Just days before the demonstration, a tent housing Al Jazeera journalists was targeted and destroyed by Israeli forces, killing the entire reporting team—an act in attempt to silence the truth from the ground.
From Bryant Park, the crowd marched through the heart of New York City, passing major landmarks and drawing attention to the urgent need for global action. The demonstration was organized in solidarity with the Palestinian people and called for an immediate end to the siege on Gaza, accountability for war crimes, and justice for the Palestinian struggle.
The movement was supported by over 200 organizations, including Anti-Zionist Jews, Together, they stood in unity with Gaza and Palestine, demanding that the world bear witness and take action.
