Montreal, Quebec — June 14, 2026 — Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Montreal on Sunday, June 14, 2026, for a pro-Palestinian demonstration and solidarity rally in support of Gaza and Palestine. Despite heavy rain throughout the day, participants marched through the city’s streets, carrying Palestinian flags and calling for an end to the ongoing suffering in Gaza.
The rally was organized by activist community networks, including Montreal for Palestine. Demonstrators assembled at Place des Arts before beginning a march through downtown Montreal. Organizers said the event was intended to express solidarity with the Palestinian people while also responding to a increasing political pressure, intimidation, and disinformation directed at activists advocating for Palestinian rights in Canada.
Rabbi Dovid Feldman Addresses the Crowd
Among the speakers was Rabbi Dovid Feldman, who addressed the gathering from the religious perspective. Speaking to the crowd, he explained that Judaism and Zionism are fundamentally different and made clear that Zionism does not represent the Jewish faith.
Rabbi Feldman stated that actions carried out in the conflict that harm civilians are contrary to the teachings of Judaism. He emphasized that opposition to Zionism should not be understood as opposition to Jewish people and encouraged listeners to distinguish between a political ideology and a religious tradition.
Demonstrators Continue Despite the Weather
Heavy rain did not deter the demonstrators, who continued their march through downtown Montreal while chanting slogans and carrying signs expressing solidarity with Gaza and Palestine. Organizers said the turnout reflected the continued commitment of supporters despite difficult weather conditions.
