An evening of unity, reflection, and education followed the July 5 Gaza solidarity demonstration in Sherbrooke, Canada.

Following the July 5, 2026, demonstration in Sherbrooke, Canada, held in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine, community members gathered at the Centre culturel et communautaire Françoise-Dunn for an evening of fellowship, dinner, and inspiring speeches.

The event brought together people from diverse backgrounds who had spent the day calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza and the ongoing occupation of Palestine. After the demonstration, participants continued their expression of solidarity in a warm and welcoming atmosphere, sharing a communal meal and listening to educational and motivational presentations.

Among the featured speakers was Rabbi Dovid Feldman, who delivered a comprehensive address explaining the authentic Jewish opposition to Zionism. Speaking before the audience, Rabbi Feldman emphasized that opposition to Zionism is rooted in longstanding Jewish religious teachings and made clear why anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.

His presentation addressed common misconceptions and highlighted the distinction between the Jewish faith and the political ideology of Zionism. The speech was well received by attendees and contributed to an evening dedicated to peace, justice, and solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The gathering concluded a meaningful day of activism by providing an opportunity for education, dialogue, and community, reinforcing the message that people of different faiths and backgrounds can stand together in support of human rights and justice.
