Thousands at hands off Rafah protest in London

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, thousands gathered outside Downing Street in London in an emergency protest against the ongoing genocide in Gaza, particularly as Israel began its assault on one of the most densely populated regions in the area.

After months of sustained assault and ground incursion, Israel’s military has displaced over a million Palestinians, with many seeking refuge in Rafah after Israeli authorities declared it safe.

A delegation of the Jewish community attended and expressed their deep pain regarding the situation, reaffirming the Jewish opposition to the very existence of the state of Israel.

Rabbi Shimon Burach Keyes spoke at the protest, alongside other Jewish rabbis.
