Thousands of supporters of Palestine gathered on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for the National March on Washington for Gaza. The event aimed to protest the massacre and genocide taking place in Gaza and demanding a free Palestine and to stop the genocide
The protest was organized by AMP (American Muslims for Palestine) and many other organizations to demand an end to the genocide. The anti-Zionist Jewish community also attended the march, with hundreds of Jews protesting the Israeli actions in Gaza.
The crowd listened to speeches from witnesses who had personally experienced the violence, including some who had lost entire families in the ongoing conflict. Many more speakers condemned the continued aggression in Gaza. Among the speakers was Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss. Due to the Jewish holiday of Shabbat, Jews could not use a microphone to share his speech, so a pre-recorded video was broadcast at the rally.
After the speeches, the crowd, including anti-Zionist Jews, marched through the streets of Washington, D.C., carrying banners calling for an end to the war and the occupation.
After sunset, Rabbi Dovid Feldman addressed another crowd at the White House, where healthcare workers stood in protest against the ongoing geocide
