On Friday, September 20, 2024, at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, across from the United Nations in New York City, anti-Zionist Jews gathered to counter-protest a Zionist rally. This event took place during the beginning of the United Nations General Assembly gathering.
While Zionists assembled to promote their agenda and spread what false propaganda to gain support for the ongoing violence in Gaza and ethnic cleansing, anti-Zionist Jews stood in opposition. They made it clear that Zionism and its actions do not represent the Jewish religion or people.
Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss addressed the world leaders gathered at the United Nations, pleading with them to use the power given to them by God to rectify this “terrible crime.” He urged the removal of the “impediment to peace” the State of Israel.
Other Jewish rabbis also spoke, addressing the false accusations of anti-Semitism often directed at critics of Zionism. They condemned how Zionists exploit Jewish suffering to gain global sympathy, while emphasizing that it is the occupation of Palestinian land that directly causes the bloodshed in the region.
