On Thursday, May 1, 2025, the day when Zionists and supporters of the Zionist movement are celebrating 77 years of what they call “Independence Day,” anti-Zionist Jews view this as a bitter day—a day when rebellion against God began and a disaster for humanity was established. To this day, the anti-Zionist community gather in many places around the world to mourn the occasion and offer special prayers for the speedy dismantlement of the state.

In the anti-Zionist community of Mea Shearim, whose residents are often described as Palestinian Jews, after expressing their wish for the land to be returned to Palestine. In the afternoon, following their special prayers, the masses left the synagogue in a march protesting Zionism, chanting slogans such as “Zionists are not Jews; Jews are not Zionists.” Banners held at the march read: “Anti-Zionist Jews are mourning 77 years of the creation of Israel—a rebellion against God and the Torah—and praying for the speedy dismantlement of the state.” Other writings on walls addressed to Zionists stated, “Your end is very near.”

“The crowd held Palestinian flags and Lebanese flags to show sympathy with Palestine,” along with banners expressing their will and wish that “Palestine should return to Palestinians.”

As the crowd reached Kikar HaShabbos, they were brutally attacked by Zionist police. Signs were being robbed and broken, and flags were stolen. The protest then divided into a few groups and continued marching through the many different streets in protest. At the end, the crowd gathered at the endpoint, igniting a fire to burn Israeli flags that had been torn down by neighbors after being put up by the government for their Independence Day celebrations. The police raided the area again, made a few arrests, and, in the process, left a few wounded behind. In one brutal arrest, the police left a stroller with a baby alone on the street and arrested the father. A few individuals were later treated in hospitals for their injuries.

Members of the community addressed the press, expressing their pain over the bloodshed and genocide taking place in Gaza. calling for the end of the Occupation, “their pain is our pain, their suffering is our suffering” said one of the demonstrators,
