Anti-Zionist Jews Protest in Beit Shemesh Ahead of Independence Day

Authorities reportedly accused a teacher of supporting terror-related activity in connection with the display. However, those present said the situation did not escalate further, and the teacher was not taken into custody after the flag was removed.

Demonstrations Spread to Mea Shearim

In a separate neighborhood, in Mea Shearim, Palestinian flags were hung on the main streets and displayed throughout the area following the march against Israel Independence Day. However, it was not long before police moved in to remove some of the flags — prompting community members to gather again in large numbers to defend and preserve the displays, in an act of collective defiance.
