After The Baklava Lady restaurant in Englishtown, NJ, displayed a sign showing solidarity with the people of Gaza and Lebanon, who are enduring ongoing atrocities, Zionist groups accused the shop owner of anti-Semitism due to her public stance.
In response, the shop owner issued a statement clarifying that her position is not against Jews or Judaism but specifically against Zionism and the violent actions it supports.
On Sunday morning, October 27, anti-Zionist Jews gathered to show support for The Baklava Lady, standing in unity against the intimidation faced by the owner and upholding her right to speak out against oppression.
Senior Rabbi Yisroel Feldman commented, “We all still remember the beautiful peace that existed in Palestine prior to the Zionist movement.” Rabbi Feldman added that Zionism, which is in total contradiction to Judaism, is responsible for all of the bloodshed in the region. He concluded, “We are waiting and praying for a peaceful end to the State of Israel.”
