Columbia and CCNY students press conference and rally

On May 1, 2024, pro-Palestinian student organizers from Columbia University and City College of New York convened a press conference to address University-sanctioned police brutality and articulate their demands. The Press Conference was held at 6 pm followed by a Rally at 7 pm, at CCNY Gates –140th Street & Amsterdam Avenue.

This took place despite the regrettable incidents of police brutality inflicted upon the students and community members of Columbia University and CCNY-CUNY just one day prior, following two weeks of steadfast student protest against the genocide in Gaza,

Many speakers, including students from these universities, addressed the press conference with a commitment to continue the struggle for justice for Palestine.

A delegation of Anti-Zionist Jews attended, and Rabbi Dovid Feldman spoke at the rally, highlighting that accusing the students of anti-Semitism is a radical Zionist stance, which does not align with Judaism.
