An emergency rally took place in Ottawa, Canada, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at the Human Rights Monument. The rally followed a day when Zionist forces fired at least five missiles that struck over 20 cloth tents housing displaced families in a designated “safe zone” in Khan Younis.
This bombing of displaced Gazans left craters 9 meters deep, burying at least 65 people alive and sparking large fires. The death toll continues to rise, with dozens already martyred.
Despite the short notice, people gathered to protest the ongoing genocide, which is unfolding in front of the entire world. A delegation of Jewish rabbis attended, clearly stating that Jewish teachings do not support such violence.
Rabbi Dovid Feldman addressed the crowd, speaking about the unimaginable suffering the people of Gaza endure. He noted that the world is witnessing the butchering of children. Furthermore, he condemned these actions and stressed that the occupation itself has been wrong from the beginning. It violates both the basics of the Jewish religion and fundamental human rights.
After the speeches, the crowd marched through the streets. With loud and united voices, they called for justice for Palestine and Gaza. Their chants echoed through the city, demanding an immediate end to the violence and oppression.
