A delegation of rabbis from Neturei Karta International, representing the United States, Great Britain, and Canada, attended the International Conference on Jerusalem and met with His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on February 27, 2012, in Doha, Qatar, on the sidelines of the conference.
Following is an excerpt from a news report after the meeting:
Rabbis thanked the Emir for hosting the conference and reiterated the authentic Jewish opposition to the occupation of Jerusalem or any part of historic Palestine.
Referring to his speech at the opening session of the conference, Rabbi Meir Hirsh said:
“We have publicly condemned Israel for its illegal land theft and the so-called ‘Judaization’ of Jerusalem, which is being carried out by placing Zionist settlers on the properties and lands of the Palestinian inhabitants, expelling long-time Palestinian residents from their homes, and demolishing their houses. We have also condemned the destruction of the Shepherd Hotel, belonging to the respected Al-Husayni family, all in order to steal more and more land in occupied Jerusalem for settlement, in violation of international law.
We must work to achieve an immediate decision by the United Nations to return all of our Palestinian brothers who have been expelled by murderous Zionist terror from their houses, their property, and their land. We must not allow the Zionist war criminals to rule undisturbed. We must break down the ‘apartheid wall,’ which violates international law.”
The Emir, for his part, thanked the rabbis for their participation and for the speech delivered by Rabbi Meir Hirsh at the opening session.
