Healthcare Workers Rally in Washington, DC for Gaza

A Historic Gathering of Medical Professionals

The largest-ever gathering of doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers took place in Washington, DC, on April 15, 2026. They spoke out against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the West Bank.
Organized by Doctors Against Genocide, the event marked a full day of action. In addition, participants described it as a powerful witness to conditions in Gaza. Healthcare professionals attended in large numbers, and many used the opportunity to raise urgent concerns.

Firsthand Testimony from Gaza

The gathering responded to the worsening situation in Gaza over the past two and a half years. Notably, many doctors who had worked in Gaza traveled to Washington, DC.
During these meetings, they spoke with members of Congress and the Senate. They shared firsthand testimony about conditions on the ground. As a result, lawmakers heard direct accounts of the challenges faced by civilians and medical staff.

“Thousand White Coats on Capitol Hill”

The event, titled “Thousand White Coats on Capitol Hill,” gained support from human rights organizations worldwide. At the start of the day, participants gathered at Union Station.
Hundreds showed solidarity with Palestinians at that location. Afterward, a press conference took place. Doctors shared personal experiences and offered insight into daily life in Gaza. Through these testimonies, attendees gained a clearer understanding of the situation.

Advocacy on Capitol Hill

Following the press conference, participants headed to Capitol Hill. There, they met with lawmakers in both Congress and the Senate.
They advocated for Palestinian rights. At the same time, they urged officials to reconsider support for the war. participants also called for an arms embargo on Israel.

Voices from Jewish Anti-Zionist Rabbis

A delegation of Jewish anti-Zionist rabbis attended the event. Among them, Dovid Feldman shared his perspective.
Having visited Gaza twice, he described what he had witnessed. His most recent visit was in 2009. According to his remarks, the situation today is far worse. Therefore, he called on the international community to take action.

Message to U.S. Lawmakers

During meetings on Capitol Hill, Rabbi Feldman addressed members of Congress and the Senate. He criticized Zionism and said these actions do not represent Judaism. Furthermore, he stated that many Jewish people around the world share this view.
He urged lawmakers not to support the ongoing conflict. In addition, he spoke about the influence of AIPAC on U.S. policy. Some lawmakers, expressed concern about pressure and intimidation.
Ultimately, Rabbi Feldman encouraged officials to act with courage. He urged them to stand on the right side of history and not to be intimidated.
