Historic Launch of Global Coalition to End Israeli Occupation in Palestine

On Saturday, January 26, 2025, a historic moment unfolded in Istanbul, Turkey, with the launch of a global coalition aimed at unifying international efforts to stop the occupation in Palestine. This groundbreaking initiative seeks to bring together activists, organizations, and nations to defend the rights of the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.

The launch marked the culmination of a significant conference organized by the Popular Conference of Palestinians Abroad, which saw broad participation from representatives of 32 countries. The event underscored the urgent need for collective action in the face of ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation, including genocide, apartheid, settlement expansion, and war crimes.

In light of these persistent challenges, the coalition has outlined key strategies to achieve international justice:

  • International Accountability: Pursuing legal action against perpetrators of Israeli crimes through international courts.
  • Global Solidarity: Organizing campaigns and demonstrations worldwide to support the rights of the Palestinian people.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Exposing the crimes of the occupation and raising global awareness about human rights violations faced by Palestinians.
  • Media Coordination: Unifying media efforts to amplify the Palestinian narrative on a global scale.
  • Unified Platform: Establishing a cohesive platform that connects activists and institutions globally to coordinate media, legal, diplomatic, and grassroots efforts against the occupation.
  • Holding the International Community Accountable: Urging the global community to fulfill its legal and humanitarian responsibilities, protect Palestinian lives, and uphold their right to self-determination.

The conference also featured a delegation of anti-Zionist Jews from the United States and Canada, including Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, who addressed the gathering. Rabbi Weiss emphasized the importance of the international community taking decisive action to support the oppressed people of Palestine. He highlighted the historical coexistence between Jews and Palestinians before the advent of Zionism, stressing that Judaism is not synonymous with Zionism—in fact, they stand in stark contrast to one another.

This coalition represents a pivotal step toward achieving freedom, justice, and lasting peace for the Palestinian people. It calls upon all conscientious individuals and organizations around the world to join forces in this critical mission to end the occupation and restore dignity and rights to those who have long been denied them.
