Press Conference on the New Mask Ban following first Arrest at Pro-Palestine Protest

A press conference was held on September 16, 2024 at the Nassau County Legislature building in New York to condemn the recently passed unconstitutional mask ban, following the first arrest at a peaceful protest a day earlier on September 15, 2024. The protest, which took place in Cedarhurst, NY, was organized against the sale of stolen Palestinian land. The newly passed law is viewed as an attempt to intimidate the pro-Palestinian movement and silence its voice.

Rabbi Dovid Feldman spoke at the press conference, together with other pro Palestinian organizers expressing concern over the issue and urging the government not to conflate anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism. He emphasized the need to condemn the genocide occurring in Gaza and defended the right to freedom of speech. Rabbi Feldman also explained that Zionism has nothing to do with Judaism, clarifying the distinction between the two.
