A strong protest was held on August 11, 2025, at the CBC office in Montreal, Canada, following the cold-blooded murder of Anas Al-Sharif, a Palestinian journalist working for Al Jazeera.
Al-Sharif was assassinated on August 10, 2025, in an Israeli airstrike on a media tent outside Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The strike also killed four of his colleagues.
The protest, titled “ALL EYES ON GAZA,” took place at the same time as Israel moved forward with plans for an impending ground invasion of Gaza City. Protesters denounced the occupation’s deliberate targeting of journalists in Gaza, including Anas Al-Sharif, in what they called a calculated assault aimed at silencing Gaza’s voice.
After the demonstration at the CBC office, the crowd marched through the streets of Montreal demanding justice for Anas Al-Sharif and all Palestinian journalists killed in Gaza.
