Protest in Long Island Marks One Year of Genocide in Gaza

Marking one full year of Israel’s genocide in Gaza, a strong protest was organized at the Amityville LIRR station in Long Island on Sunday, October 6, 2024. At 2 p.m., the community in Long Island gathered in solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza. Many organizations advocating for Palestine gave speeches to shed light on the difficult situation in Gaza and the ongoing genocide.

The protest was attended by a delegation of anti-Zionist Jews. Rabbi Yitzchok Deutsch addressed the crowd, speaking powerfully about the pain of the Palestinian people. He pointed out that the suffering extends beyond the past year—it is the result of over 76 years of occupation that has caused so much bloodshed. Rabbi Deutsch expressed hope, stating that evil does not last forever and emphasizing that we will see a free Palestine within our lifetime.

After the speeches, the crowd marched for a long time in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine
