On March 4, Columbia University in New York City became the epicenter of a heated protest after inviting former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to speak on campus. The invitation sparked outrage among students, activists, and community members who accuse Bennett of  war crimes against Palestinians. Protesters gathered at the university gates, located at 116 Broadway, demanding that the event be canceled and denouncing it as an attack on pro-Palestinian voices within the institution.

Hundreds of students, faculty, and supporters rallied with banners and chants, condemning the university’s decision to host Bennett. Demonstrators argued that the invitation was not only tone-deaf but also emblematic of systemic bias against Palestinian rights. For many, the event represented a direct assault on pro-Palestinian students who have faced intimidation and harassment for advocating justice for the Palestinian people.

Anti-Zionist Jewish groups were also present at the protest, making it clear that Zionism and its leaders do not represent all Jews or Judaism as a religion. In a widely shared video from the protest, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss challenged a biased Fox News reporter, compelling them to listen to the truths about Zionism and its impact on both Palestinians and how it affects Jews and Jewish identity. Unsurprisingly, these perspectives were omitted from Fox News’ coverage because they do not align with pro-Zionist propaganda narratives.
