Zionist Police Raid Home And Arrest Anti-Zionist Activist in Jerusalem

On Wednesday morning September 4, 2024, a group of unmarked Zionist police officers raided the home of a well-known activist from the anti-Zionist Jewish community in the Mea Shearim neighborhood of occupied Jerusalem. The activist is widely recognized for his visit to the Palestinian community in Jenin last year, during which the Jewish community sent a clear message of peace, condemning the actions of the Israeli state.

Just a few days before his arrest, the activist led a delegation to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. He has been working to build bridges between the old Jewish community in Jerusalem and the Palestinians, who remember the peaceful coexistence that existed between these communities before the introduction of Zionism.

At the time of his arrest, the Zionist police entered his home undercover, as Zionist officers are generally unable to enter the Mea Shearim neighborhood due to fierce opposition from the anti-Zionist community. They are usually met with a very hostile environment.

During the arrest, the Zionist officers attempted to intimidate the activist by removing his head covering and forcing him to stand in front of a Zionist flag—a tactic similar to how they treat resistance groups in Gaza or the West Bank—in an effort to break his spirit.

While being arrested, the Rabbi proclaimed : “The Zionists have been trying to break us for over 76 years, but with God’s help, we will stay strong and never bow to Zionism”

The Jewish community, which has long opposed and continues to oppose the existence of a Jewish state, refers to their neighborhood as the “Jewish Palestinian territories.”

Rabbi Meir Hirsch, a spokesperson for Neturei Karta in Jerusalem, added:

“This is how the Zionists treat Orthodox Jews who reach out to Palestinians in the name of peace.”
