Anti-Zionist Jews Attend Palestinian Flag Raising in Hoboken City Council Chambers
The Palestinian flag was raised in the Hoboken, NJ City Council Chambers as a show of solidarity with Palestine, marking a year since the brutal slaughter in Gaza carried out by Israel. The people of Hoboken requested this symbolic gesture to highlight their support for Palestine.
However, as soon as the event was announced, Mayor Ravi Bhalla faced a wave of intimidation and criticism from Zionist groups , including accusations of being anti-Semitic for hosting the event. Despite the tremendous pressure, the mayor stood firm and ensured the flag-raising ceremony proceeded as planned.
Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, a prominent anti-Zionist Jew, attended the event and personally thanked Mayor Bhalla for his support of Palestine. The rabbi also condemned the Zionist accusations of anti-Semitism, firmly stating that anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism.
This event highlighted the solidarity of diverse groups with the Palestinian cause and underscored the distinction between opposing Zionism and harboring anti-Semitic views.
