Thousands Rally in Columbus Circle for International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

On Friday, November 29th, 2024 thousands of people gathered at Columbus Circle in New York City to observe the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The event aimed to support the oppressed people of Palestine and condemn the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Over the past year, the world has witnessed horrific atrocities carried out by the Israeli military—one of the most brutal genocides in modern history—broadcasted live on TV and social media.

People of conscience from all backgrounds came together in the afternoon to stand on the right side of history and publicly show their solidarity with Palestine. Among the attendees were anti-Zionist Jews, who emphasized their opposition to the state of Israel and its actions. Rabbi Yitzchok Deutsch addressed the crowd, highlighting the Zionist leaders’ intent to erase Palestine by founding the state of Israel, once claiming, “The old will die, and the young will forget.”

The rabbi remarked that the protest, alongside millions of people around the world who are standing up for Palestine, is a powerful testimony that Palestine will be free. He added that Jewish people have an additional responsibility to condemn the genocide and occupation, which Zionists falsely justify in the name of Judaism—misrepresenting the true teachings of the Jewish religion.

Following speeches by various organizations and leaders, thousands of attendees marched through the streets of Manhattan, raising their voices in solidarity with Palestine on this significant day. This demonstration reflected the growing global support for the Palestinian cause and the collective demand for justice and freedom.
