Massive protests broke out following a visit to the United States by far-right Israeli minister, Itamar Ben Gvir. Serving as the National Security Minister in the Zionist government, Ben Gvir has been accused of worsening the suffering of the Palestinian community and oppressing anti-Zionist Jews due to their strong stance against Zionism and the occupation. In previous years, even Zionist courts convicted him of racism and supporting a terrorist organization.

His visit sparked outrage among many conscientious individuals and righteous people worldwide. As the world continues to witness the ongoing genocide in Gaza for the past 18 months, the oppression of the Palestinian people has intensified through the expansion and legitimization of settler colonialism on a large scale. Ben Gvir has further inflamed tensions with the Muslim community by repeatedly visiting the Temple Mount. His actions are widely regarded as provocative and intended to antagonize the Muslim community. These acts have drawn condemnation from numerous world leaders and prominent figures within the Jewish community.

On Wednesday night, April 23, 2025 Ben Gvir was invited to speak at the Shabtai Institute, an affiliate of Yale University located in New Haven County, Connecticut. His scheduled speech drew hundreds of protesters who gathered to condemn him and everything Zionism represents. Earlier that day, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss urged people to come out and protest against what he described as the “Minister of Death” and the “Minister of the Zionist Satanic Movement.”

In interviews conducted at the protest in New Haven County, Rabbi Weiss explained, “We came here to protest not only Ben Gvir but also the very existence of the state of Israel, which falsely calls itself a ‘Jewish state.’ This so-called Jewish state is nothing more than a tool of oppression and colonization.” Rabbi Weiss condemned the genocide in Gaza and the ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people, emphasizing that true Jewish people stand in stark contrast to the violence and injustice perpetrated by the Zionist regime.

In the late afternoon, hundreds gathered in New Haven County to protest Ben Gvir, including many anti-Zionist Jews who traveled from New York to voice their opposition. The demonstration highlighted the growing resistance against Ben Gvir’s policies and the broader movement against Zionism, emphasizing solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and the call for justice and peace.
