Thousands Protest in New York City for “Flood NYC for Gaza National March”

On Monday, September 2, 2024, during Labor Day, thousands of pro Palestine protesters gathered at Union Square in New York City for the largest anti-Israel protest in the city in a long time, called the “Flood NYC for Gaza National March.” The protest was organized by Within Our Lifetime and co-sponsored by over 100 pro-Palestinian organizations.
At 11 a.m., the crowd began to assemble, listening to speeches and chanting together in protest of the ongoing massacre in Gaza. Following the speeches, thousands took to the streets of Manhattan, passing by many important landmarks as the entire city was filled with people showing solidarity with the oppressed in Gaza until late afternoon.
Anti-Zionist Jews also attended the protest and march. At the protest, Rabbi Yitschok Deutsch said to the press, “We really have no words to describe the situation as we are witnessing 11 months of an unbelievable genocide taking place in Gaza in front of the whole world. We, as Jews, are embarrassed by what Zionism is doing in the name of our religion, in the name of the Jewish people. But the world must know that this has nothing to do with Judaism; Zionism and Judaism are not the same thing.”
