Students and Activists Rally at Stony Brook University for Palestine

On January 27, 2024, students and activists gathered at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY, for a rally in support of Palestine. The event took place a week after the ceasefire went into effect, despite continued violence by the Zionist state of Israel, which has already claimed more Palestinian lives in Gaza and Lebanon. Raids and killings in the West Bank also persist, while hundreds of thousands of Palestinians returning to their homes are met with the heartbreaking sight of rubble and destruction.

A delegation of Jewish rabbis attended in solidarity with Gaza and Palestine, including Rabbi Dovid Feldman, who addressed both the rally and Zionist counter-protesters. Speaking on Holocaust Remembrance Day, Rabbi Feldman highlighted the irony of Zionism using the Holocaust to justify actions that inflict suffering on others.

“The Zionist movement is using the suffering of my relatives and my communities to inflict suffering on others,” Rabbi Feldman said.

The rally concluded with a powerful march, as the crowd raised loud voices for justice and peace, demanding freedom for Palestine.
