Jews and Pro-Palestinian Supporters Protest Israel’s 77th Anniversary Parade in NYC

On Sunday, May 18th, 2025, while Zionists celebrated the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel in New York City, anti-Zionist Jews, together with pro-Palestinian supporters, gathered on Madison Avenue to protest.

The demonstration took place at the entrance to the annual Israel Independence Day parade. Activists stood in opposition to the 77 years of Nakba — a term used to refer to the displacement and suffering of the Palestinian people since 1948.

Anti-Zionist Jews made it clear once again to the world that there is a long-standing Jewish rejection of Zionism, and consider Zionism a direct rebellion against God and Jewish teachings.

The protest occurred as the global community continues to witness an ongoing genocide in Gaza — now entering its 19th month. This tragedy, sits atop 77 years of suffering and violence inflicted upon the Palestinian people.

Throughout the event, protesters stood firm while Zionist marchers passed by to enter the parade. Tensions escalated as the protesters were repeatedly assaulted and attacked by pro-Zionist counter-demonstrators. Eventually, the NYPD had to intervene to separate the groups and restore order.

After several hours, the protesters marched to the end of the parade route. As participants exited the celebration, chants rose in opposition to the event and the policies it represents.
