Protesting the Genocide in Gaza on Palestinian Land Day in NYC

On Saturday, March 30, 2024, the 48th anniversary of Palestinian Land Day was commemorated. This day marks when the Israeli government, in 1976, announced a plan to confiscate more Palestinian land for state purposes.

Thousands gathered in Union Square in Manhattan, New York City, to honor this day and protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza. After nearly six months of witnessing the criminal genocide in Palestine carried out by Israel, the protest highlighted the targeted repression, imprisonment, and violence against Palestinian youth and students.

Among the protesters was a delegation of Jewish rabbis who, due to the Jewish restrictions of Shabbat, walked a long way to participate in the protest.
