A day after Israel’s horrific attack on the Al-Aqsa Hospital complex in Deir el-Balah, Gaza, where people were tragically burned alive—a devastating event that was broadcast on social media—an emergency vigil and protest took place at Brooklyn Borough Hall on Monday, October 14, 2024. The protest was organized by Doctors Against Genocide, and anti-Zionist Jews were among those who attended to show their support for Gaza.
During the protest, Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss delivered a heartfelt message to the people of Gaza. Rabbi Weiss, speaking to the gathered crowd, urged the world to take a stand, stop these atrocities, and understand that Jews and Judaism opposing Zionism and especially such crimes. He shared in the deep pain felt over these horrific acts, delivering a powerful call for justice and solidarity with the people of Gaza. His words emphasized that the world must no longer remain silent in the face of such suffering.
After the protest, the crowd marched to Barclays Center, sending a strong message to the world: we cannot remain silent when we witness genocide unfolding before our eyes.
