Vigil for Gaza: A Stand in Solidarity with Healthcare Heroes

On Saturday, November 16th, 2024, a solemn vigil was held at the Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn to honor and stand in solidarity with the people of Gaza. This event marked a year since the devastating attack on AL Shifa Hospital, an act that symbolized the beginning of a catastrophic collapse of Gaza’s entire healthcare system. Since then, countless hospitals have been targeted, leaving the healthcare infrastructure in ruins and worsening the humanitarian crisis with each passing day.

The vigil was organized by Healthcare Workers for Gaza and Nurses for Gaza, aiming to pay tribute to the doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals who have been bombed and killed in cold blood by the Zionist regime. It served as a powerful expression of solidarity with the courageous healthcare workers in Gaza who risk and lose their lives daily in the face of unimaginable violence.

Among the attendees were anti-Zionist Jews who joined the vigil to show their unwavering support for Gaza and condemn the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people. Their presence highlighted the growing global resistance to Zionism and its brutality.

This vigil was a solemn reminder of the ongoing struggle for justice in Gaza and the unyielding spirit of those who continue to resist, heal, and care amidst unimaginable suffering.
