On February 10, 2025, students, activists, and a delegation of anti-Zionist Jews gathered at the CUNY College Board of Trustees public hearing. The rallying cry was clear: “Divest! We will not stop; we will not rest!”
In the afternoon voices united in a demonstration urging the university to divest from its investments in Israel, following 15 harrowing months witnessing the devastating genocide in Gaza. Rabbi Dovid Feldman addressed the spirited crowd, emphasizing the critical distinction between Judaism and Zionism. He encouraged students not to be swayed or silenced by false accusations of antisemitism when standing up for justice in Palestine.
Following the rally, the crowd moved inside for the public hearing, where students courageously testified about the intimidation they face on campus due to their stance against Zionist oppression. Their testimonies were met with resounding support as chants for Palestine echoed throughout the hall. Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss delivered a heartfelt plea to the trustees, urging them to take immediate action to aid the people of Gaza and to stand firmly on the right side of history. “Zionism will end soon,” he proclaimed, calling on all present to align themselves with justice and humanity in the times to come.
