Anti-Zionist Jews counter-protested a Zionist rally called the “Unmask Campus Hate Rally” at the gates of Columbia University in Manhattan on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. As the world has been witnessing 11 months of non-stop bloodshed with the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, more and more people are standing up against the genocide and realizing that Zionism is wrong and that the entire occupation has been wrong from the beginning.
The Zionists, unable to handle this criticism, are accusing the students of being anti-Semitic and came out to protest against them as the new academic year begins. In contrast, anti-Zionist Jews came out to proclaim that “anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism,” and they, as proud Jews, are standing up against Zionism, including the genocide currently taking place in Gaza.
Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss spoke at the protest, even as Zionists tried to intimidate the anti-Zionist Jews and physically attacked them. The crowd chanted together, “We oppose the State of Israel because we are Jews.” Another chant was, “State of Israel, shame, shame, you don’t speak in the Jewish name!”
The anti-Zionist Jews held banners reading, “Jews Supporting the Students: Anti-Zionism is Not Anti-Semitism,” emphasizing their support for the students’ stance against Zionism.
