On Thursday, April 25, anti-Zionist Jews joined a rally amidst the Jewish holiday of Passover to express solidarity with the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at Columbia University in New York City. The Encampment began on April 17, 2024, initiated by pro-Palestinian students who erected tents on the university campus, naming it the Gaza Solidarity Encampment, and demanding the university to divest from Israel.
In an interview during the rally, Rabbi Dovid Feldman stated that, “Speaking up for Palestine is a beautiful action done for the oppressed people of Palestine. Accusing the students of being anti-Semitic is disturbing and radical.”

As a Muslim, I find it heartening to see anti-Zionist Jews standing in solidarity with the Gaza Solidarity Encampment at Columbia University, The initiative taken by pro-Palestinian students to erect the Gaza Solidarity Encampment demonstrates a commitment to justice and solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.

Rabbi Feldman’s message reinforces the importance of solidarity and understanding across religious and cultural divides in the pursuit of justice for all people, regardless of their background.
