On Friday, May 3rd, 2024, a mass rally and march took place at New York University at 4 pm in support of the students who stood up in solidarity encampment for Gaza on campus, and demanding divestment from Israel. This came on the day the NYPD swept the NYU and New School Gaza Solidarity Encampments in the early morning.
Anti-Zionist Jews attended the rally and march, and gave interviews to the press. They expressed once again the Jewish opposition to the Zionist state of Israel and made it clear that Zionism is not the same as Judaism. They emphasized that the genocide in Gaza in no way represents Jews or the Jewish religion.
